The Redcliffe peninsula
Salt air is the first thing to know about a copier on the Redcliffe peninsula. It gets into everything: connectors, fans, paper stock. Our technicians work on site across Redcliffe, Kippa Ring, Margate, Scarborough, Woody Point and the bayside suburbs behind them. Same day service can be arranged. The price is settled on a phone call with the make, the model and the fault.
Redcliffe is a long finger of land poking into Moreton Bay, joined to the mainland by Anzac Avenue on the north side and by the Houghton Highway bridge to the south. The old town centre runs along Redcliffe Parade and Sutton Street, with the jetty and the waterfront at its front. Margate, Woody Point, Scarborough and Newport run down the peninsula, and Kippa Ring is where the railway line finishes, opened in 2016.
That geography shapes everything. Offices are spread along a few main roads, businesses are small and local, and many of them are tied to the water: marine services, tackle and boat repairs, tourism, seafood and the councils and agencies that look after the foreshore.

A machine near the water takes in salty, damp air for years. Rubber parts go hard, connectors pick up a white crust, and fans clog with fine grit. Paper stored in a back room soaks up moisture and curls. When a copier on the peninsula starts to misbehave for no clear reason, we look at its surroundings before we look at its parts.
Some simple habits help. Keep the paper sealed until it is needed. Keep the machine out of direct sea breeze and clear of an open window. Dust the vents when you dust the desk. A cheap hygrometer in the copy room will tell you more than you expect.
A short map of who prints what.
| Place | Mainly | What we meet |
|---|---|---|
| Redcliffe town centre | Professional offices, legal and finance, the council service centre, retail, the hospital precinct nearby | Mid range colour copiers, workgroup lasers, finishers in busy rooms |
| Kippa Ring | Shopping and the new offices around the station, health and allied services | Newer machines with network and scan faults |
| Margate, Woody Point, Clontarf | Small firms, trades, community services and schools | A3 or A4 multifunctions that have been in service for years |
| Scarborough and Newport | Marine businesses, tourism, boat services, small manufacturers | Machines that live near the water and a few label printers |
| Rothwell, Deception Bay and the mainland edge | Industrial units, trades, light manufacturing | Heavy cycle copiers and workshop printers |
Redcliffe Hospital sits on the peninsula and draws a ring of private specialists, pathology and allied health around it. Their printing is forms, letters and results, and patients are often waiting for them. Privacy matters, and so does the stored data inside a copier, which is why we agree what happens to it before any repair or replacement.
The first call does most of the work. We ask enough to bring the right part, and the target is one visit.
The railway line to Kippa Ring has changed what is built around the station. New offices, medical suites and retail precincts have opened, and their machines are newer. Newer machines come with panels, cloud features and sign in systems that fail in new ways. A scan that stops working after a mail provider change, a printer that vanishes from the network after a switch, a card reader that loses the server. We can usually tell where the fault is from how it fails.
The peninsula fills up on weekends and public holidays. Redcliffe has a long tradition as a day trip from Brisbane, and its waterfront, markets and events bring visitors and a spike of paperwork for the businesses that serve them. Cafes, tour operators, accommodation, event organisers. If your busy time is fixed, tell us when you ring. We cannot promise a time, but we can say honestly what we can arrange.
Getting on and off the peninsula depends on a small number of roads, and a bad day on Anzac Avenue or the bridge changes the plan for everyone. Give us your street and the best way in, and we say honestly what can be done that day. Parts that have to be ordered mean a second visit, and you will know that before we go.
Scarborough has a boat harbour and a run of marine businesses around it, and the canal estates at Newport and the bayside suburbs have a lot of small firms operating from home or from a small unit. They print invoices, work orders, safety paperwork and parts lists, often on a single multifunction that does everything. A good clean and a roller kit does a lot for these machines, because they work hard in a hard environment.
Salt and damp tilt the list.
The peninsula is Kyocera and Toshiba country on the copier side, with Canon, Ricoh, Konica Minolta and Sharp filling in around them. Small offices tend to run an HP or Brother laser. We are not tied to any of them.
Behind the peninsula, on the mainland side, the suburbs of Rothwell, Deception Bay and Kippa Ring blend into the industrial units and trade strips along the main roads. Fabricators, builders, motor repairers, packaging and small distributors work from sheds with an office at the front. Their copier is a hardy A3 mono or colour machine that has never had a gentle day.
Dust and heat are the enemies there, as they are on any industrial strip, and the bay air adds salt. We look at the vents and filters, clean the paper path and replace rollers that have hardened. In many of these offices a regular clean would cost a fraction of the repair that follows when it is left.
The foreshore is managed by a mix of councils, clubs and community groups, and many of them run on volunteers. Surf clubs, sailing clubs, historical societies, fishing clubs and the small charities that run the Sunday events all have a copier or a printer somewhere. They are used by many different people, who are not trained, and the machine often has a stack of odd paper on top of it.
We can look at a machine like that and say what it needs. A card at the machine showing how to clear a jam, a sealed box for the paper and a surge board for the power are all cheaper than a repair.
If you have a second office at Bribie Island or further up at Caboolture, tell us. Those areas have their own pages on this site, and we group the machines across the north where we can. A practice with a room on the peninsula and one at North Lakes is a common case, and a single call lets us plan both.
Give us the suburb and the street, so we know which side of the peninsula you are on. Give us the make and model from the label on the machine. Describe what is happening, with the exact words on the display if there are any. Mention whether the machine is near the water, near an open door or in an unair conditioned room. Those last details matter more than people think, and they let us bring the right part.
Afternoon storms in summer roll across the bay and bring power surges. A copier that stopped with a click may have a surge fault on the power side or on its network connection. Put the machine on a decent surge protected board, and tell us if it happened during a storm.
On the peninsula the technician is trained, experienced and certified, and 98% of repairs are finished on the first visit. A returning fault gets fixed again at no charge. Repairs happen on site and nothing is posted off. If the lines are busy your call is logged and returned. New and refurbished machines are also available from us, warranted, and we buy used ones.

It also settles arguments. If a drum went in during March and fails in May, the record shows it, and the repeat fix is free.

Yes. Redcliffe, Kippa Ring, Margate, Woody Point, Scarborough, Newport, Clontarf, Rothwell and the bayside suburbs behind them.
Yes. Tell us when your busy weeks fall and we say honestly what we can arrange.
Skewed pages, a new squeak at feeding, longer warm up and toner that rubs off are the usual signs. Ring while it is still working.
Over years, yes. It hardens rubber parts, corrodes connectors and clogs fans. Keep the machine clear of open windows and keep the paper sealed.
Corroded connectors are a likely cause. We look at the machine and its surroundings.
Yes. We talk about stored data before a repair or a replacement.
Often the cause is on the network or mail side. We can tell from how it fails.
Give us the model and the fault and we say what is possible.
Yes. Tell us what it is and what condition it is in.
